Today we were guests again in the castle restaurant. Food, wine, and above all the warm, competent service was, as always, an experience. THAT is Italian cuisine.

Great ambience and very clean toilets with very good hygiene implementation (Covid). Great terrace at the foot of the Saarburg with a view over the valley, unfortunately we were not hungry and only had a drink, attentive service.

The view is great! My wife, our baby and I dragged ourselves up there with a stroller, which was extremely laborious. We were hungry and thirsty as it was very warm on Sunday, September 19th, 2020. Castle, knife and fork were depicted on all the signs we saw. Even at the beginning of the mountain, the operators have put up a nice sign on which it can be clearly seen that there is a restaurant on the castle that offers food. To our disappointment we were not served. Not even a glass of water! We couldn't use the toilet and were not served. The reason, closed society !? 1. Why not communicate this to the guests at the beginning of the mountain and let them complete a marathon first and then disappoint them very impersonally? A small sign would have been enough, but no, they make people believe that they are getting food and only a board at the entrance of the restaurant (on top of the mountain !?) indicates that there is nothing today. It's just a hint. From me on a piece of laminated paper ... Down on the sign. Easy! 2. Why don't you even offer a glass of water on warm days. At least for women and children. 3. Why is there no mention of masks, distance or hygiene on the premises? Corona obviously does not seem to survive on the premises or the virus knows that it is not welcomed or served up there: D 4. Why is it not possible to use the toilet? We would have paid for it too. It would be very nice if you could answer my questions or see the criticism as inspiration. I don't need any excuses or a formal, professional answer to appear to be legitimate. Just hang a sign at the BOTTOM of the mountain. Write on your chalkboard that the use of the toilets costs € 0.50 and, for God's sake, offer water up there ... even if you are hosting a wedding party, for example. We'll definitely be back in Saarburg at some point. It would be very nice if we could get something to eat and drink from them. Thank you and best regards

A very special Italian. Very tasty and good wine selection.

We visited last night and are very enthusiastic. The prices are higher than in the old town below the castle, but the quality of the cuisine is also on a completely different level. The starter plate was very refined and extremely rich. The second course with pasta afterwards just fit in. My wife had the dish of the day, a vegetarian lasagna with potatoes and pesto. Sounds irritating at first, but it was incredibly delicious. The kitchen can and must develop further, including the Italian one. The crowning glory was the Italian cheesecake with ice cream - incredibly creamy - pickled peaches and almond crunch. It wasn't exactly on the menu, but it was obviously adapted to the season. I think that's great. All in all a great evening at a completely acceptable price.

Yesterday, Monday around 1:30 p.m., arrived between two wine tastings (Zilliken and Lauer). Very good service, nice variety of starters, great seafood pasta with good quality (if a little too much rocket as a topping (replace part with flat-leaf parsley), therefore slightly bitter in the finish when it heats up - you would have to counteract this with a little sweetness) in great Ambience with a wonderful view. What more do you want?

Probably the best culinary experience in the Region. Vincenzo and Tatjana have brought their international experience in the gastronomy / reception to Saarburg with great taste and care. The food is simply delicious, never dull. Authentic Italian and international dishes, with no compromise for the quality of the ingredients. The daily specials are really specials, worth trying. Great presentation of the food, a very good selection of wines, an amazing view and kind personnel complete the picture. Special mention for Paola's desserts... make sure you leave some room for them :)

In Saarburg so far by far the best restaurant delicious food prepared with great care and pleasant service !! Recommended.

In the short term, we benefited from another couple's rejection. We had a very great evening in the outdoor area of ​​the restaurant. The services and the food were 1 with *. Very authentic Italian cuisine, etc. homemade noodles, which is rather unusual for Germany. We like it very much and - as promised on site - we are guaranteed to come back.

It's unbelievable how rude the operators are. No information at the entrance that you have to wait. The person who spoke to me (had not put on a proper face mask) was extremely unfriendly. Who has enough guests doesn't have to be friendly? People came towards us and had the same experiences.

My family and I just realized how bad the staff at this place are. Rude and incompetent in my eyes. Spacing is also just guidelines for some people. The mask on the face also belongs over the nose.

Very good Italian cuisine, great restaurant with a cozy terrace and an amazing view over Saarburg. Very good service - everything fits here. Thanks again for the nice hours with you ;-)

My fiancee (pregnant woman) had to ... and was not allowed to go to the toilet because we were not customers. I don't think that's possible ... This way you can also handle customers, actually we wanted to come to Essen after the tour of the castle. 👎

We loved it. The ambience is very nice and the service was very friendly. We only had one cake with coffee and that was a very delicious cake. We recommend. If we are in the vicinity again, we would love to come back.
